In order to track AMD assets and content across the various online systems AMD uses a corporate taxonomy. The taxonomy is a structured, hierarchal list that shows the different AMD subject areas including products, corporate initiatives, etc. An example section is shown below.

Every asset that is loaded into ADAM Is assigned one or more taxonomy values. These values tells us what the asset is about and is used to determine when an asset should be shown as you browse or search ADAM.
Because the taxonomy value is critical in displaying the asset properly, care must be taken to assign the correct taxonomy values.
